Tonight

This is a very nice song, really suits my mood atm.
Enjoy!

I got up this morning and fell out of bed

Trying to make it to the door.

The wind was high, I didn't have much time,

Trying to find a man to score.

And then you came up on the other side

To brighten up my day.

I knew right away

That this could be my day.

Someone like you

Could make me change my ways.

Someone like you

Could turn the nights into days.

There you were, standing

On a crowded street.

You looked so good, though the air was bad,

Walking through the fog.

I want to thank you, thank you now

For getting me back on my feet again.

I want to thank you, thank you now

For getting me back on my feet again.

Artist of the Week 1

So this new post was inspired by the fact that lately I've been listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin and today I decided to listen to everything by them, every single song. Just to add a hint of awesomeness to the paper I have to finish today.

You probably all know about them so there's really no need for an introduction. But just as a small reminder:
They're English, they've been rocking since 1968, the guitarist name is Jimmy Page, the singer Robert Plant, the drummer John Bonham and bassist John Paul Jones.
After Bonham died, in 1980, they stopped playing but still remain a legend in the rock scene. :)

The song I love most by them is.. hmm.. this is a hard one! but I'll go for "D'yer Mak'er"! Ah yeah.

Well here are the videos, because the best always comes at the end:
Enjoy!

oh and this one...

and:

I'd post more but that would take up too much space. To make it easier for you, here are the albums from '60s to the '80s:
1969 - Led Zeppelin and Led Zeppelin II
1970 - Led Zeppelin III
1971 - Led Zeppelin IV
1973 - House of Holy
1975 - Physical Graffiti
1976 - Presence
1979 - In Through the Out Door
1982 - Coda
(of course there are other Compilations that appeared, Best Of's etc but if you really wanna go into that kind of stuff you can search for more info on the "Internetz".

PS: For this post to be even more awesome, I didn't really know until after I published it, it's Robert Plant's birthday today! :)

Piers Faccini

So after the previous post, I thought I'd discuss Piers Faccini. Never heard of him? Neither did I until recently... which quite frankly I find a pity cause his music is really good. Apparently I have a thing for British- Italian singers.
Piers Faccini currently has 4 albums out:
This could be you (2001)
Leave no trace (2004)
Tearing sky (2006)
Two grains of sand (2009)

An interesting fact about him is that he is also a painter, you can find a few of his paintings on his website below.

Find more interesting stuff here: piersfaccini.com
So here's a small preview of his great music. Enjoy!

- Save a place for me

- A Storm Is To Come (featured in Greys Anatomy)

- The Wind That Blows

The Veils

I know, I tend to repeat myself when it comes to them .. but I can't stop.. they're my repeat band. Just like The Bravery, Muse, Porcupine Tree, I can't explain it.

If These Trees Could Talk

Today is one of those days, in which i'd rather just listen to chill instrumental music. As a first choice I thought I'd present this band shortly.
With a very sweet name, if you ask me, If These Trees Could Talk have a slight resemblance to Explosions In The Sky. ITTCT call their genre "Post-Whatever", which could easily be defined as some kind of instrumental post rock something something. I'm not very good at defining genres anyways.
So here's a taste! Check them out it's worth it.

The second band is well known, their songs appeared in many movies as soundtrack.. like Snow Angels! or.. Valentines Day? I think..
Here are some of their more... popular songs?

The third band is called Mono, can't remember where I discovered them.. I do have to admit that there are many bands with the name Mono.. either way these guys are from Japan and this song is awesome:

The fourth band is called Red Sparowes. I gotta thank Victor, a friend of mine, for sharing this with me.

I had a few other bands I wanted to share but sadly I didn't find any decent videos. I'll update this post eventually.

Sunday night.

Here's the singer from the well known Sigur Ros in his solo album that, if you ask me, is a HUGE success. Creative, new, fun, awesome. An album worth checking out
Here's the song:

The second song is by Carbon Leaf, a nice band with a rather folk-rock-ish beat. They sound really good.

The third song includes high pitch sounds and a cool video! A song a hipster would probably love. Be wary it gets addictive after a while.
M83.

The fourth song is by a band called Riverside. My bestie showed me this band and I have to admit I fell in love instantly.
Here's one of their song, Hyperactive

The last song, (notice the very different genres presented in this post)is quite different from all the others. It's a Sunday night song if I may add.

So.. enjoy!

A song to bring a smile.

A beautiful song,
one of my favorites if I may add. :)
I'll try to post songs more frequently starting next month. Thing is I've been extremely busy with college ( Stupid $#^#%#*^*% Freiburg University) So yes, awesome music is yet to come!

Until then, enjoy the kick ass pictures that I use as wallpapers and a tune to soothe the heart and soul.

Day 1 - Beginning.

Welcome to Alla's jukebox!

At first I thought it was a bad idea but then I realized after a while, facebook doesn't show old links anymore and if it does you have to scroll down for infinity and beyond. Therefor I thought I'd put together a little jukebox, for those people that can't get enough of interesting music, new bands, old bands, forgotten songs, golden songs, songs that remind you of a special occasion, songs that make you sad and any other kind of music. Do enjoy, listen, discover, remember, do whatever. Suggestions would also be great!
